It is about time to introduce the team behind One Try Productions – Georgi Vasilev and Borislava Sakalieva.

Georgi has an intriguing background and childhood. He grows up in a democratic family in a totalitarian country. His parents are of artistic background and he could often be found playing around with the actors in the theatre, where his father was a playwright. It was at this time that he develops his passion for photography, inspired by the famous Bulgarian photographer Yordan Yordanov.

Later he moves to Poland where he finishes his photography studies and finds a new passion for cinematography and videography.

Georgi is also a very keen athlete – with a professional competitive background in skiing, snowboarding, inline-skating, offroad racing and sailing.

This results in him being extremely well prepared to put to practice his skills in the movie industry – he has shot over 170 movies in the span of 20 years as a cameraman.

Borislava also grows up with passion for sports, competing professionally as an alpine skier. While being a sport hook-up she finds another passion – graphic design, which takes her on another life journey. Her higher education is completed in Denmark where Borislava collects hands on experience in the sphere of digital media. Later on, she starts pursuing a career as a digital media designer.

Currently she takes the role as a producer in their joint project, One Try Productions – a commercial video and documentary production studio, she and Georgi created during the COVID-19 pandemic when everything was closed and the movie industry suffered a great recession and difficulties. Their main goal was to establish a production house capable of making projects with smaller and more effective crew.
